DUDE! I am so pissed right now. Just traded in my 2008 X for a sahara because of an accident. Two days into owning this a friggen rock cracked my windshield. Anyone have a lucky charm or anything to help with this SH-- luck I am having.. Oh well get a new windshield for $110 going to wait till it spreads thou

 

That sucks... I think I was a month in when a rock put a chip in mine just off center...hasn't cracked any more but it just seemed wrong...

 

yea man ! The other jeep I had for 3 months. No problems till I got hit.

 

good point Maybe it will take a little impact vs this cheap glass in it now. Well now it will match the scratches in the plastic dash ...haha

It will happen again. Trust me. I've had three Jeeps and had windshields replaced in all of the them. I just replaced my JK windshield in June, and I got another chip coming home from Vegas last month. Luckily this time, it was small enough and high enough that we were able to buy one of those kits to fix it ourselves. So far it hasn't spread. No way was I going to have another windshield replaced this soon. I'll wait until I have multiple chips this time. It's only $100 for a new windshield through my insurance, but I'd rather save it for something else.

 

Just like your X, the Sahara is now ruined. Time to trade again.

 

You just need to lift it higher!!!! That way the rocks go underneath.

 

Congrats on the sahara. Did you end up buying it jeep green like you wanted? Post some pics when you get the chance (if you havnt yet). It sucks about your windshield though, seems pretty common (and normal) for these jeeps.

 

Yup, I had my first rock chip on day 2. It always happens just when things start looking good doesn't it
