What to look for in a used Rubi axle?
There is a Rubi d44 for sale locally that I want to get. What should I look for? Anyway to check that toe locker works? Is that even a concern? I just got burned on some used shocks and don't want to get burned on the much more expensive axle.
Have them open the diff. Cover make sure the lockers is there. Check the ring and pinion. Look for chipped and Missing teeth. If the guy will not open the diff cover he may have somthing to hide.... Or no place to put the oil, but he should open it. If everything is ok looking, you buy it and you replace the diff fluid, no skin off his back!!
Good luck
