a friend of mine walked up to me today and said that shes going to be dating someone that drives a hummer...sooooo i had to give the dude a piece of my mind..he said that hes gettin rid of the tahoe for a hummer...so i asked why replace one tahoe with another...ur just buyin more plastic...
he says hummers are more practical...better for on road driving and better offroad.. (h3 btw)
says hes never seen a wrangler more than 10 years old without alot of shop time...i mean really? how dumb do u have to be?

Well, it's his money, so we should let him spend it the way he sees fit. However, you might point out that the Wrangler, even during these times of high gas prices, continues to command a high resale value. That would seem to bely his anecdotal testimony that they spend their time in the shop (or at least it offers a counter-argument that the fun-factor easily offsets the inconvenience of occasional repairs). Oh, and if he's serious about off-road (since he mentioned it, I assume this is the case), then you might also refer him to a couple websites--he can pick them--one selling Hummer parts and another selling Jeep parts. It won't take a reasonable person more than a minute or two to figure out which vehicle has the increased attention of the after-market manufacturers for mall crawling, and which is the true, off-road vehicle.
