Default What size tow strap do I need?

I am getting together all of the proper recovery gear to keep in my Jeep.

I am unsure if I need a 20 or 30 foot strap. Should it be a 2" or 3" strap.

Please let me know what I should buy.

Thanks.

I have a Pro Comp 20'X3" and I think it works just fine, but you really need to determine what to get by where you go offroading. Most of my situations will not place me or others somewhere that a rescue vehicle would be more than 20' away, so the shorter works well. If you will be in places that may be more than 20', then go with the 30'. Either way, make sure it's a rescue strap (no hooks) and not a tow strap. It should have a weight rating of no less than 20,000lbs.

it does depend. If your in tight forest trails or rocks 20' is good because you dont normally have a lot of room. If your in open field with mud or going through water 30' is better. That extra 10' could be the diffrence in having a tow vehicle getting stuck as well trying to pull with mud under him or sitting on dry firm ground
