Default What sort of damage am I looking at?

Hey guys. I am a long term JK owner who is in the military. While being relocated recently I left my 2013 2 door with my parents and some asshole drove into their lane and forced them off the road. They hit a tree on the front left and I am curious as to what extent you think the damage is. It doesn't look too bad. I think that it looks mostly to be the lights and coolant/windshield washing reservoirs. Please add any thoughts as to things that should be looked at/ concerns. Thanks for all the help!!!

Check the frame, control arms, and axle.

That doesn't look bad at all to me. Fenders and rad support unbolt. The front Tupperware bumper folded, but the frame rail never hit the tree, so frame should be fine. Use the money for the Tupperware to buy an aftermarket steel bumper.

The front axle (tire) may or may not have hit anything, but if so the housing likely bent and maybe a control arm or 2.... but all that stuff is normal collision stuff that unbolts and gets easily swapped out with new.

The hood just gets chucked onto a scrap pile, unbolt and replace.

That's fairly minor, nothing to bad unless there are monsters hiding out of sight.

The reason I say check the frame is the picture of your bumper. The damage to the bumper is right where the front of the frame is.

Just good idea to check.

I would say the frame is fine. I damaged the crush can on the bumper more than that just by hitting a deer.

X2 definitely worth the short amount of time required to have the frame checked.

No way anyone can tell you over the internet what the damage really is.

Have a body shop look at it; either through your insurance company, or independently.

Default Take it to at least 2 shops for Estimates

Take it to at least 2 shops for estimates and then Submit them to an adjuster. Good part is now you can upgrade the OEM crap and get an aftermarket Bumper and Hood. Also tell them you do not want bondo ask them for a new driver side quarter panel. Also might as well upgrade the fenders
