What is your shifting style ?
Not only did I get a manual because I think it is a classic jeep characteristic and I enjoy it, but I also wanted my kids to learn how to drive it as well.
One of the profs at the local college and a good friend of mine (we talk 4WD quite a bit. He asked one of his larger classes the other day how many students could drive a stick. How about 2 out of about 40.

i usually hit most gears unless im on a freeway on ramp then its just 2nd to 4th but the rpms can go up to redline
i do downshift on declines and drop a gear when i pass
i use all my gears consistently and my favortie is 2nd

has any one with a 6spd ever accidently droped it from 5th to reverse?? just wondering..

Well... Once I somehow started shifting towards R by accident. The clashing / grinding sound (like gears refusing to mesh) made my skin crawl and you-know-what pucker. I think you would have to try real hard to force it into R that way.
don't want to wear out the brakes? they are a hell of a lot cheaper than a clutch
