Default What was your Trade in Value?

As the title says. I was quoted 6500. which blew my mind after all the hype i have heard plus a check on kKB which put a 2007 X with my options at $9600 for fair and $12000 for Excellent. I know i can talk him up but still. Wow low ball me....

So im young and new to this process. Please help me out if you can.

The background: i have a 2007 X i bought new and have paid off. It has 91400 on it and the various mods listed below. It also has a bent front axle (i didn't mention this what so ever to the dealer so it wasn't counted)

I have a few warning lights that recently came on and i took it in. In the end i couldn't get it checked out today but i did look around at the new 2012 and test drove a 2012 JKU. Besides the fact that it was an Auto, i loved it.

a NEW axle is atleast 3-5000. The new pentastar w/ 80 more Hp is amazing. Im really in debate about doing a trade in or keeping my beloved JK. he did offer me a supposedly great deal on a 2011 Rubi too....

EDIT: I WAS PLANNING ON UPGRADING TO A 44 FOR MY OWN USE. I DIDN'T ACTUALLY PLAN ON GETTING OR EVEN ASKING ABOUT A NEW JEEP. I DIDN'T TELL THEM BECAUSE I WAS CURIOUS ABOUT THE WORTH OF IT WITH A GOOD D30.

When I traded in my 08, they gave 17k for the trade! It was a 2 door soft top that I had for 2 years and 47k miles, originally paid 21k for it. They really wanted to put me in an 11!

I know right?! I am younger and he might have tried to take advantage of that but still!

KBB also puts my JK at around $14000 if sold privately.

I didn't have near that many miles, but my '07 X got $21,000 for trade.

For a trade in, yeah 6500 is what they would offer. resale yourself and you should be able to pull about 12 - 13. maybe a bit more

I was reading another guys post after doing a "trade in value" search. He went to a Fresno Dealer and got his quoted for 18k.

Anybody else out there wanna chime in. The more you speak up the more ammo i have to throw at the guy if i decide to go back.
