Literally.... Do your jeeps make that buzz noise when you shut it off??? It lasts for about 4 seconds, and comes from the engine bay. What could be the source???

(Not complaining, just confused as to what it is)

Unless you're talking about something else, the cd player seems to make a buzz after you shut off the vehicle.

Mine does this too. My CD player definetly makes a buzz also, I assumed it had more to do with something in the HVAC system resetting itself (closing/opening the appropriate doors) But of that i am not positive. I never really looked into it.

I thought it was the cd player.... But i replaced mine, and have aftermarket now...

It's definitely not the electric fan. It's a lot quieter than that. I'm wondering if it's more audible in X's because of the lack of hood insulation(assuming it is from the engine)???

I've occasionally not turned the key all the way off, and while working on, or near it, will hear a weird buzz. No idea what it is, but it reminds me that I left the damn key on. It does it at certain intervals....bugs me, but the way the ignition switch is, it's a good thing it does it!!

Wow, I'm glad somebody else has heard this....thought I was hearing things...

Its a strange noise, hard to describe....to me more than a buzz, but less than a clunk...more like a muffled thump buzzzz.....

The JK does make the sound.. as do some other Jeep vehicles.... Older Grand Cherokees make the same sound... And I believe it has something to do with the Air Conditioning..
