What's the scoop on ordering?
I figure I'll likely pick up a JK later in the year. I figure it might be best to order one rather than trying to find one with the exact options I want. So I have a couple of questions about the ordering process, I'd appreciate it if anyone who has ordered can help me out.
1. Where do you go to place your order? Do you have to run to the dealer or is this something you can do online?
2. How do you get the best price? When you're out shopping vehicles on the lot you can compare sticker prices and dealer quotes, can you do this when you order?
3. At what point do you go fill out all the paperwork? Is it after your vehicle arrives or sometime between ordering and receiving the vehicle?
4. If it arrives and you find something you don't like about it, are you still obligated to take it?
Thanks in advance. Never bought a vehicle this way but I've heard you can save some money doing it so I wanted hear some experiences from those who have been through the process.

Order from a dealer. Research online will tell you what invoice price is. Decide what is a fair offer for you and the dealer. Walk in and order a Jeep and say you will pay $x for it. If they agree, they may require a small deposit (they might say its non-refundable, but its really not). When the Jeep arrives, you sign papers and drive it home....if there is problems with it, you are not obligated to it. Most issues will be fixable by the dealer.
I started with the JeepWarehouse.com quoted price (+ delievery charges). I sent an email to all the dealers within a 100 mile or so radius from my location, asking for the best quote under the JeepWarehouse price. I was very specific in my emails regarding the options on the Jeep and that I was looking for an actual quote by certain date. Some dealers won't respond or will respond with bullshit responses. I got actual quotes from about half the dealers that I emailed. I ultimately chose a dealer that gave me a quote under invoice with no haggling. Good luck!
