Default When to replace tires

So my general ats are wearing down now. Before I had my jeep I would let my tires go for as long as I could before replacing them (usually completely bald.. Sometimes my motorcycles even showed some tire wire). Anyways when do you guys replace tires with offroading in mind? I go about twice a month. Usually muddy trails and some rock stuff. I went today and it was dry so I couldn't tell if my very low tread was causing any problems. Just wondering how soon you guys put new shoes on and what your advice is. Thanks!

Just my opinion 6-7/32 I start looking at my options.

By 4/32 it's time to get em off. If all of them make it that long.

I'll usually go to about half tread, usually no less then 6 or 7/32nds. Then I sell the old ones for some cash. Most people only need to worry about road miles so plenty of life left for on road use.

Same as other advice, but since my trips may be a bit different than the monthly outing to the local off-road park I time the swap with that. That is, I go on three or four week-long or longer trips a year. There is a lot of highway miles involved with those and other trips--22,000 miles in 2015, for example. So I time the tire swap such that I get as much usage out of the tires as possible before swapping them. IOW: I do the swap early, as suggested above, but just before a trip that requires off-road use. So they may be down to the treadware indicators if they go there on highway miles, or well above if the timing doesn't work out right. If there is plenty of life left in the tires, I keep the best two as spares (or the previous spares if it doesn't). I hope that makes sense!
