Benefits are longevity, better mileage, prob 20-25 maybe 30 mpg. Easy to get More Hp and TQ with bolt on upgrades. Diesels will push bigger tires easier than Gas motors, and get better milage at the same time than gas motors. Negatives are: little more noise, but on jeeps tires are usually loud anyway. Inital higher cost of the diesel, apx. 3-4k Option. A Diesel JK would be a better all around JK no matter what.

I for one would like the diesel... Im not too keen on the high emissions, as you were stating...

There is a delicate balance. How bout installing a bio-diesel kit afterwards???

Any thoughts.

I'm not buying this. I am paying $2.99/gallon for my diesel right now. If the crude was had for a third of the price, wouldn't I at least be a few pennies less than gas?

Face it, it will stay expensive and get more expensive. Biodiesel is a great idea, so is ethanol, but I bet if we cut down all the trees to plant soybeans and corn, there still wouldn't be enough to go around.........
