I agree. BC Canada has to be one of the best places in the world to live. We have huge untouched forests, deserts, the tallest mountains, huge rock areas, a huge coastline, and more lakes than one could ever dare to count...everything. And, being that the vast majority of land in BC is crown land, there are virtually no areas that anyone is going to keep you out of.

I'll tell you where NOT to live if you want to wheel: Connecticut. Our state is tiny, and there's damn near nothing in the way of legal, public trails... ![naw](https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/images/smilies/icon_naw.gif)
Further north in New England (New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine), you'll find a ton of logging roads, as well as some really nice expanses of open space...
And I was amazed to see how many wheeling opportunities there were in Wyoming and Montana - GORGEOUS out that way!

I can attest to this. I had a '92 Cherokee, and later traded it for a '93 Grand. Everything was private and locked up. I fif find a trail under some powerlines, but it was only open for a few months.

I'd venture to say that Montana wasn't on that top 10 list because so few people have been here.
This state, by FAR, has the best offroading ability I've ever seen. I haven't lived everywhere in the states, but I think it sure would be hard to be better than here in MT.

Imperial County, California sucks to live, but great for wheeling. 45 minutes in ANY direction and I have places to wheel: Imperial Sand Dunes, Chuckawalla Mountains, Truckhaven Hills, Borrego Springs, Ocotillo Wells, Superstition Mountain, Ocotillo, In-Ko-Pah, the southwestern Yuha Desert, tons of places across the border in Mexico, and many, many places in between.

Southern Utah and the Rocky Mountain states are great. Not only are there all types of trails but there are endless destinations and scenery that is hard to beat.
