Default Where's Waldo (JK)? (50mi dealer search)

I found a JK that I could live with by searching nearby dealerships every day. It was a pain to keep clicking through the inventory links, so I hacked a quick-and-dirty mashup that'd generates a list of dealers, address (tied to Google Maps directions from my crib), phone, inventory update date/time, and thumbnail from a specified zip. I'd run it a few times a day and it was instrumental in both finding and negotiating my smokin' deal @ Ben Dover Jeep (haha). Its hard-coded for an auto JK Rubi, but could be hacked a bit more to let you pick vehicle, trim, and do directions from your address -- still in the 50mi. radius from given zip. Anybody interested in using it if I throw it up on a hosting account?

Give it a try and let me know how it goes... If you're a real g33k, the augmented XML for the result is appended -- view source to taste...

Yeah...it was a moment of gulibalness. What can I say? It sure would be funny if someone really started a dealership called that. I'd pay good money to see that sign.

Nice to meet you Ben, what you in for?
Molesting a dead horse...
Nothing wrong with that, every man's right...

There is by the way a "Dick Witham Ford" dealership...

The link on here is a great search tool and is worth the bump to the top of the list!

On the first post, click on "give it a try".

Nice mashup. Any reason you don't allow the distance to be configurable?

I found this post a while back, but I think it mirrors the Jeep.com locator.

I figured that is what he was using. But, you can extend the range on the Jeep website. Basically, you click New Search then Custom Search and then you have an option for the number of miles.
