I don't see why Jeep is making the interior of the new jk's so nice. If i had one of those I wouldn't even want to take it wheelin so it doesn't get dirty. There too nice it seems to have fun in them. The samed colored hardtops for the saharas now is weird also.

I finally took my doors off for a run this weekend and gotta admit I had fun getting a little mud on the pretty interior....

So many people are spending thirty and forty grand on their stock jeeps anymore. Why would Chrysler not?

They add a few amenities and charge another ten g's.

I couldn't bare messing up a pretty interior like that, ill leave that to the 2010-2012 owners. My 2007 is bare bones as it gets, and it is perfect for my needs. But there are those who prefer the fancy stuff, like nav, leather, steering wheel electronics that fail, etc. Its still a jeep, lets not be mistaken. It may just be a little bit of a princess, and that's ok.

The new interior cleans up just fine.

I (stupid me) left my door open at the offroad park while unhooking my tow strap after pulling my Dad's TJ out of a pit, and some drunk idiots started doing donuts in the mud next to me and their tires COVERED my interior with mud. Pi$$ed me off bad enough to kill somebody.

But after cleaning with basic water and wash cloths, you can't tell it even happened. Cleaned up a lot better than I expected!

That's it right there. I have to say that power everything in my 10 Rubi is nice. When I want basic I drive my 89 YJ.

[QUOTE=DaK;2687766]The interior makes it very nice for wheeling. Also, getting to and from the run makes it real nice, not mention just running around town.

i don't know why everyone thinks they scratch very easy it all depends on the color you get. I have a sahara that is tan with same fenders/top not the bumpers tho. And i run branches up and down the side of my jeep living in the northwest. and i have had no scratches at all. i did get the clear coat scratch protector on my jeep cause i knew this would happen. Other than that the other guys with the black tops get scratches that are more noticeable than mind. I don't know if its the color cause i can't see any scratches unless you get within 6 inches of the car and then they are minimal.

Just pull the carpet and get seat covers. Everything else cleans the same no matter what year...

Default Can't say I hate it, but...

I do like the interior improvements in my 09 over my 97 TJ, but I think the interior on the new ones are too nice, I think the Wragler is no longer a utility vehicle, but now is more of a very capable SUV.

I bought a 6-speed, 2 door 70th anniversary cause I got a good deal. It's my daily driver and it's on a trail every couple weeks. I've never been disappointed by its performance just because I'm sitting in a leather seat, or listening to music off my phone through bluetooth. My girlfriend is always cold so she loves the heated seats and climate control. It's also nice that I won't get a ticket for talking on the phone since it has hands free.

If you're building a competition rig, I can see why you'd want to sacrifice the conveniences for performance. But, what's the percentage of people that do that? Not to mention that people who are that serious would likely strip the interior either way.
