Gut check time for me. I'm about to drop 1/3 the purchase price of my Jeep on a lift, wheels, tires, gears, driveshafts, and a new rear bumper all at one shot.

Not posting to brag. I can see the day with the front bumper, winch, sliders, lights, air, etc, etc, etc, all the stuff we add the cost of mods will exceed the what I paid for the Jeep.

Anyone reach that benchmark yet?

Yeah, no. i literally paid cash for my 2010 Rubicon Unlimited in May. But, i can see it in the Future. Cause i'm gonna drive the wheels off this sum-beach.

That only happens in the movies!!! Jk, I think the people who can actually do that have enough money not to care.... Plus what 90k on a jeep when they drive 200k lambo or Ferrari!!!

No. For us it works like this (if anyone asks): You see this is like a cabin...it is a family thing....the kids love it...it destresses me from work...we see things other people can't...See what the kids learn by solving problems?....The snow is deep in CO, we'll go where we want anyway....Lot's of ghost towns to see...It is like an old wood boat, needs constant love and attention...spotting/driving is good for the kids, builds character--the rig or I could get hurt, but I trust them....rescuing people it worthwhile (we get to rescue someone every few weeks or so)....

So it depends on where one is in life, how they use their jeep. For us it is all those things I listed above and more. For the experience with my kids, family, and friends....priceless.

 

I wish! I have to prioritize. But if I had 200k sitting around doing nothing, it wouldn't go to a sports car. I'd just get another Jeep
