Why all the hate for Optima?!?
I have been researching getting a new battery, the last Optima I had (pre-Mexico) gave me no issues... I shouldn't have sold it with the car.
Was thinking about getting a new one... but after reading all the hate mail about Optima here, I am a bit nervous.
The Sears Platinum is like $80 more than the Optima.
Is everyone still on the anti-Optima Band wagon?

I wonder if their quality increased in the last few years.
I don't need a yellow top, I don't have too many extras - yet.
Think I'm gonna give it a try... They were good for me in the past.
From what I have heard optima isn't having much luck producing consistently reliable batteries. I was told that they are in the process of a redesign to be more like the flat plate die hard platinum.
I went with the die hard platinum. While I haven't had it long enough in the jeep to tell how it will hold up to the abuse. I do have 2 platinum s in my diesel truck that runs multiple lights, amps and accessories. They are running strong. Never a hiccup.

Oh boy.... do I start to do more research and change my initial selection? haha
I've always heard that the yellow top Optima's were the cream of the crop so-to-say, I suppose that's not all that true?
I know the Die Hard Platinum's are really good too.

My first Optima Battery (Yellow Top) was purchased as a back-up power source for HAM Radio... After about two years, I installed it in my F150, then three years later in my 2k Cherokee, that lasted four more years... I don't have the Cherokee any more (thanks to an ex- C#@T) and this same battery never failed to perform this whole time.
When it's time for a new battery in my JK, it will be an Optima... And thinkin' it will be dual Optima's for a wench and HAM radio.

Mine is older so I might be biased but I took it out of my truck before I sold it on 2009, put it in my jeep and its still holding up great.
I have done lots of winching and it pushes my 1500 watts worth of system just fine.
And it's a red top.
