My grandpa is big into HAM.. he probably has $5k worth of HAM stuff that he has acquired over the years. He's a HAM operator for Oakland County, Michigan.. They do weather saftey stuff with it and all sorts of different things.
He told me about that bouncing off the Moon thing.. and how people were able to talk to people on the moon from earth.

CB's are great for the trail because generally everyone that has already built a rig has one. Some of the older guys are hard pressed to try something new, so that really cool old guy with the kickass CJ that always helps you out, probably has a CJ, and it would be a small miracle to get him to change when it has worked for 20 some odd years.
