Default why no undercoating?

Just curious why the wrangler has no undercoating?? Is there a reason for this?? Seems like it would add a layer of protection from salt and road grime.. Is there a real reason to why its not?

Nope. I've had 7 Jeeps over the years. 2 CJ's, YJ, TJ, XJ, two WJ's and now a 3/4 4x4 QC Dodge. None were undercoated from the factory. These days all body parts are dipped with a rust protectant. Actually works pretty well if they are not scratched.

Why would they want to make something that lasts longer?
