Why not the SRT group?
Well I understand that 90 percent of the JK owners today don't take it off-road (grass field at tailagate, maybe). I also understand that business wise Jeep must cater the majority of owners.
So my question? Why doesn't Jeep utilize the SRT engineering group to get us a HEMI, 35's so on and so forth. Would make sense to me? WHY?

My guess would be producing a vehicle with a hemi and 35's would be a tough one to get through NHTSA/EPA standards. And could you imagine the price on something like that? I see JKs in dealer lots with dealer installed lifts going for ridiculous amounts as it is, I'm sure with the MSRP it would have you could do it yourself for cheaper. But we can dream right??

300s, Chargers and RAMs all have much larger production numbers than our JKs.
If they make an SRT JK, I'll buy one.
I'll settle for a 6.4 hemi with proper gearing, SRT interior and 33s. And I'll do without the color matching hardtop and fenders.

Don't think many of the grand cherokees make it to the strip either. Just like a compass made it through the rubicon trial once so it is "trail rated"
Its just like how many people buy Wranglers, and may gently wheel them, but do not go out and see how far they can push them offroad.
I am thinking if Jeep could get past the safety and CAFE rules, and thought it would be profitable, they would make a Hemi Wrangler.
Although it looks like the 2012 3.6 and new auto tranny is a decent improvement.
