Default Wilbur got "broken into"

Went to work today and noticed the air seemed to be extra loud today....seemed like the top was down. I went to lunch and on the way back i looked in the side view mirror and noticed the drivers side window flapping around in the breeze I KNOW i didnt leave it out because i havent touched the top or windows in a week and neither has anyone i asked. Last night i swore i heard a car door slam but was too sleepy to get up and see...guess it was Wilbur's door I didnt have anything loose in the jeep and luckily i remembered to lock the glove box and console Funny thing is the drive way has 3 flood lights pointed right at the dam jeep and they still had the balls to walk up and break in!!!!!!!! I wish the guys at work would hurry up and install my alarm!!!!!! Sorry i had to vent b/c i am really mad right now. Just glad Wilbur wasnt hurt

It sucks that someone "broke in" (they didn't actuall break in, though, did they?), but I'm really glad to hear that there's no damage done. You're one of the lucky ones!

If you have an aftermarket locking console you might be ok but with the factory one I wouldn't suggest locking anything in there. I once discovered, after locking my ez-pass (toll tag) in the center console while driving toward the toll that if you push on the release of the center console, just as you would if it were unlocked, but only slightly harder it will open. it is after all only plastic and bends very easily. I'm considering putting a lockbox under the passenger seat when I find the time as I too need a place to keep the heat when I'm not wearing it.

and you guys up in MASS have TTOOOOONNNSSSSS of firearm laws too. it's crazy. you have to register them and everything . . . my sister took her .380 up to Berkley with her. she was like "omg it was such a hassle to keep this thing up here. i might as well just keep it illegally." makes me wonder how many people don't have a way to defend themselves since it's such a pain. . .

anyway back ON topic.
Ah I see your point, that sucks :|

lol yeah our laws CAN suck, but could be far worse. Upside is we dont have a 7 day waiting period ect. walk in, see what you want, hand em you license, and after a couple mins walk out with it.

Its been jacked lol Yeah they didnt actually BREAK in they just pulled down on the soft top bow enough to unlatch the bottom of the drivers side window to reach around and unlock the front door. My aunt said she heard someone SLAM a door and i am guessing it must have been mine I know exactly who did it to!!!!! Back when i had my 1984 Camaro i worked at a lube and filter place. Guys down the street knew the owner, came by one day and he goes, "you own that camaro down there on central right?" i said "yeah..." hes like " yeah me and my lil bro were working the streets down there stealin radios and he wanted to grab yours but i told him not on our own dam road!" Since then the "nicer" older brother has moved out and the little one prolly about 14-15 is still around. I am almost certain thats who did it!

Oh and to the guy who sustained damages, i would check into your auto insurance company to see if they cover theft or break in damages

At least they didn't cut your top to get in, you got lucky in that regard. Sorry to hear Wilbur got broken into though...I'm just fearing the day my Jeep gets broken in to, I know its gonna happen eventually.

guys, don't lock the factory glove box and console. its a waste of time and thieves will cause more damage breaking into them. i leave mine unlocked for that exact reason. i'd rather someone break in and open the console and see theres nothing in there.

and the love of god!!!! don't keep anything of value in them either. it will disappear, i guarantee it.

yeah i usually leave the glove box unlocked(don't have the center console) but i guess i forgot to take a pair of my Oakley's out so it was still locked. other then that i don't care if they steal my ungodly amount of insurance cards...i really need to clean those out. oh well.
