That all depends on the part of the country you're in. Would I want no a/c in the south? No way!

I didn't think it was possible to NOT get A/C in an Unlimited? All the US models list it as a standard feature.

Is the Canadian version different? Do you guys get the option of buying the diesel?

I drove my TJ for 10 years without it. I'm in Canada as well. There were really only 4-6 days a year where it was super humid and raining so you couldn't take the roof off and it was a little hot. I didn't think it was a big deal.

I had a/c in my TJ for years and never used it, it was either too cold and I had the top/doors on or it was warm and I had top/door off.

I live in Virginia. Between the heat and the humidity, I know several people that run the AC with the top and doors off. My last Jeep was a CJ with no AC, so I'll just have to wait to see if I do it. But I will definitely use it with the top up in the rain.

The Canadian versions are different. There is only 1 "X" package.

One more thing which has not been mentioned: If you ever happen move to the South your resale value will be horrible. I'm in Dallas and you couldn't give me a vehicle without A/C. But this may be a moot point.
