Default Willy vs jk

So there's this old WWII jeep willy in my town that I've never seen driven, I'm only allowed one vehicle unless of coarse I pay for another. (in high school) my dad is going to talk to the owner about buying it if it's in good condition and everything. I'm really stuck on the decision of trading my dad my jk for the old rig which is the deal we might make. What would you guys do in my situation?

You want to replace your JK for a Willy for an everyday vehicle? Yea, I don't know about that. I'm pretty sure it's different in Texas but living in Toronto, Canada there's no way people use classic vehicles as everyday vehicles.
I regret selling my YJ which I made look like a ww2 willy but then that gave me 4 g's of mods on my JK.
Personally I rather drive the Willy, but in real world scenario I rather take the JK

Oh isn't a jeep willy only 5-6g's?

It would be a cool toy, but as a daily driver it wouldn't be a good choice. You will lose reliability and safety

Keep the JK and tell your dad that you will help his fix it up, it will be some good father & son time. That will also sell your mom on it. Then you end up with the JK for DD duty and can barrow the flat fender since you helped work on it.

I've owned CJ's, YJ's, TJ's and now JK's.

I grew up off roading, including an M41A.

Sorry. No matter how "cool" they look, their off-road capabilities, performance capabilities, and safety features are way below what I demand now a days.

They were fun when I was 16 (well, 10 when I started driving off road). Knowing what I do now, I'd never let my son get behind the wheel of a willy's on pavement. He's getting a JK next year for his 16th bday. I'll even be building it for him as he (I) goes a long.

People hate the electronics in the new jeeps but they sure keep less experienced drivers safe.
