Default Winch ?

I am new to the board, I just traded my 98 Wrangler in for a 2008 JK 4dr. Rubicon

I am flat towing it behind a motor home, and already have it set up with the stock bumper, and would be expensive to change now.

Question: Is there a Winch and bracket that can be used with the stock bumper?

i got the WARN plate for $260 at a truck show. The winch is not the original one. Bought a PE8000 but after multiple failures they sent me the SI9500 free of charge and it has worked great.

Do a search in write ups. There was one person who modded his stock bumpeg with an HB winch and it sat low, no obstruction to the radiator.

Check this thread out. If you are handy with tools and have a day to kill piddling with your JK, this is a great in-expensive option.

Dan;

I am thinking about a 2008 Unlimted (Rubi or X) to replace my Grand Cherokee. I also flat tow. I use a Blue Ox base plate.

Did you have any issues installing a base plate? Did you run separate tail lights or use diodes to connect to the stock ones.

Thanks

John
