Default Winch Protection?

I have had 3 friends in the past year lose their winches (stolen). On my tj I had welded the 2 bolts on each side together, but makes it tough to remove.

Just about to order my Superwinch 9000, curious what the jk'ers are up to?

To take off my winch you first have to remove the bumper. Then, removing the winch is a PITA! If they go to that extent, they're going to get it one way or the other. If you weld the nuts, they'll just take your bumper. I stopped worrying about it long ago. But, if you're going to weld the nuts that hold the winch down, you may as well put a weld on a couple of the nuts that hold your bumper on too.

With my FabFour front bumper, it'd be much easier to steal the whole thing, instead of trying to get the winch out.

It was such a PITA to get my warn into my Rugged Ridge, even if they took the whole thing off, they probably won't be able to get the winch off (I have skinny fingers).

So the trick is to get the right bumper...
