on my old vehicle I looked into these. Here is what I was told. The inchannel ones are hard on your window motors. If you live in cold climates the windows can freeze to the vent and when you try to open your windows it could break the vent or damage your motor. This is obviously if you have power windows only.

Not sure how much truth there is to that but that is what a dealer told me
