So I have had 2 Nokia Windows Phones, and I will probably stay with Windows phone as long as it's around. I was wondering if there are any other forum members who would love to have a forum app for WP8. I don't want to start any phone OS wars, but I would really like to know how many other people would be as happy as I would to see this happen.

 

Windows 10 will soon replace 8. MS says all 8.1 devices will "eventually" upgrade to 10. Now, it's up to that particular device & that device carrier to issue the update. Knowing that the carrier already made money from selling the device, there's really no incentive for the carrier to spend millions testing and hosting the update, when it's cost efficient to just sell a new device with new OS. So, more than likely, Windows 10 has to be released before any apps are made. Making an app for 8, a dead OS, would be a waste of time.

 

Well all the current apps will work on 10, so it wouldn't be an issue with making one now. Unless they waited to do the universal W10 app. But not too many people use the apps on their PC, I know I don't. Also, MS has already stated that all WP8 phones will be capable of being updated to 10. So technically none of it is dead. I was still updating my 810 through preview for developers until a couple of months ago when I got my 930. I have all of the apps I could want except for JK Forum.

 

I agree with no OS wars. I also think it is ridiculous to have a dedicated application for every forum. Bring back the support for Tapatalk. This way IB and the other revenue generating sites would be providing a better service for their users. I would be willing to pay a nominal amount just be be able to use one app for numerous forums.
