How much is a windshield for a jk? I got hit buy a rock today and split from the bottom to the top right in front of the steering wheel. Now i need to get estimates but was kind of wondering what the average price out there is.

pretty basic and easy shape/design...i would not pay more than 100.00 for it. I have the glass on my old mercedes and my old ranger replaced for 115 and 105 respectively at a little hole in the wall repair shop round my area.

don't quote me on this, but I talked to someone and they said their insurance company paid for it without a deductible because it was a safety issue?????
not sure but might be worth a call.

100 bucks... i wish... that little peice of glass lists for about 375 dollars. i found a guy who did it for 255 installed. only took him like 25 minutes. the one i baught isn't a mopar either, its a PPG which is made in america and supposed to be a good windshield. so far its holdin up great. one last thing, everyone i called wanted to know whether it was through insurance or out of pocket, apparently they charge differently for one or the other, at least thats what it seemed like

Default Are you sitting down?

Here in Canada I was quoted (now is where you sit down) over $700 ....remember our dollar is on PAR with you US guys......
I literally laughed in the guys face. This was at a Jeep Dealership.....I then proceeded to ask what an 06 TJ windshield cost.......$138......I said I would wait....lol....

At a glass place I was quoted $405......I think I might have to take a trip to the States to get this thing replaced....

A place like Speedy Auto Glass should do it in a couple hours for about $275-300. Not going to find it much cheaper.

Insurance covering it gratis is a state-by-state thing. Some states require it covered as a safety issue. MO... I doubt it.

it depends on the policy, some policies include free glass, which is a real nice feature.

If I remember correctly, the last generation of Jeeps had flat glass for the front windshield. The new Jeeps are slightly curved and not readily available as the older models. Take those two factors and you have your price difference.
