Winter driving
you mean the traction control its fing garbage in anything over thatn 5'' or higher in my experience i just turn it off and watch my throttle other than that it helps around town when the roads are slick .but i was never a fan of any sort of traction control..cant become a better driver when the vehicle does it for u.
Two years ago we had a very snowy winter and the only issue I had we're that of the shity tires that came stock on my jeep. Jeep handle great but these Goodyear wrangler tires really sucked jeep finally got stuck in one foot of snow. Other than the tires the jeep handle great
Because Jeeps are rear wheel drive you might find yourself using 4hi on icy/snowy "they should've closed work" type days. I just take it out of 4hi when I make sharp turns, or don't need it. All the tires that come on stock jeeps are fine for winter weather driving. Sure there are better tires out there, but you'll do great.
Off road in deep snow, you might get stuck depending on the snow, or how you drive. I drove in 2' deep snow to pull my buddies ford explorer out of stuck, and had no problems. I have a Sahara model with stock tires.

I was wondering the same thing. Snowboarding season is around the corner here in cali and I go to mammoth alot. So when they require chains do u just drop to 4hi and go? I'm new to snow driving with my jk.
Don't forget that there is more to winter driving getting rolling and controlled turning, you also have to be able to stop as well. I believe that there is no mud terrain or all season that will have better braking abilities than a proper winter tire. Just my opinion but its winter for 7 months out of the year where i live with record breaking snowfall and temps as low as -40C where i live and i have a bit of first hand experience. A couple of sand bags maybe 100lbs, good tires (I like nokians for winter), some common sense and all electronic aids on (unless off road) and you will be unstoppable.
Good luck
and have a safe winter keep the shiny side up

I once helped a f-250 get up a snowy/icy hill in 4low and all locked up with studded tire, but thats not the usual winter driving situation. When things get messy i just pop it in 4high and traction is no issue.
