Default A word to vendors...lack of communication and false promises

I have owned my own business(Construction) for 18 years and know very well the importance of communication with my clients as well as making sure I deliver on what I promise. Nothing can ruin you faster then lack of communication, not returning phone calls or e-mail. At the very least most people just want to know what is going on. Since I recently purchased my JK I have had a couple of experiences with vendors(who shall remain nameless) that leave me with bad impression and the certainty that I will not do business with them again. If you tell me that your lead time is two week then please live up to that. If something comes up and you have a problem then communicate that with me. Don't shine me on and tell me it will ship tomorrow only to have it be that I have to call you in a week to have you tell me again that it will ship on Friday. Then another week goes by and still no word and again I am forced to call you to find out what is going on. I don't care how great a product you have or how well priced it is I am not going to recommend you to anyone else if you make my experience in getting your product suck. It does not take much to keep me informed. It reminds me of how many people fail in my business. You may be a great carpenter(Or welder/fabricator) but that won't mean a thing if you are a lousy business person.

It seems pretty common when it comes to Jeep parts. I've been asking AEV for a quote to ship bridgers for 2 weeks, 3 emails, no response.

I live in Calgary, I'm used to lousy service now.

Well I hate to say this but who are you? I dont know screen ames I only know your real names. A phone call can never hurt or even a email. Please dont use Pm's or post in the forum to communicate with us.

If you ordered a FT kit or FT JK control arms During the sale or shortly after there is a little bit of a wait do to how many people ordered that kit. Nobody expected to sell as many as we did and so we are waiting for some parts to get finished and then tracking numbers will be sent out.

I totally agree with accurate ship dates but dont hold the dealer totally responsible for it all. The MFG's who ever that may be most of the time drops the ball on the ship date.

The last thing we want is your shipment delayed Believe me I would love to have everything in stock and ship the same day like we do with 90% of everything but the JK stuff is still to new and selling to fast to be able to do that.

If you have a order with us and you need some hlep please pick up the phone 360.340.0282 call me and I will help you.

David

I can say that david has kept me updated and put up with alot of shit from me since i ordered my full traction ultimate kit. He told me it was going to be a while and i knew that before i ordered it so its no big deal. Get over it guys and don't call out one of the top vendors atleast call and do it privately if you want info.

It's like this I get what I can get from who has the items in stock. As for full traction they are like ARB and their Dana 44 Diff covers they can't deliver on time. Sorry david Offroad Evalution will ship the Superior front axles to on monday. I buy from who has them first. Business is Bussiness if you drop ship you stand the chance of problems happining. As for full traction I know that its not Davids fault . Full Traction lied and we are stuck until they fill the orders. In the meantime I will look for a alternative if it doesn't happen soon I will find a alternative product to replace the full traction products .

A good vendor is going to realize that you as the customer are going to give them some crap about orders that are delayed and are going to deal with you getting bent out of shape, because they realize you have allot of money on the line and will empathize. But, then there are the customers who become cry babies and basically throw temper tantrums by posting here and there, trying to cause damage, and in the process just end up looking foolish. (I'm not pointing out anyone in particular. I'm just speaking in general.)

Personally everything I've ordered from Northridge was there quicker than I needed it. Shrockworks stuff on the other hand took awhile, but they were great with information so still rate high with me.

At this point time is the major factor . I need to finish before the holidays when I am off on vacation. I work all summer with no time off and the winter is my play time. I am just a few pieces short of finishing so I can have everything installed at one time . From now on I will have to call each vendor and see if they have the items in front of them and ready to ship. They no longer have the chance to hold my money while I wait for the parts to ship.
