Cool Wow!! I'm impressed

I finally was able to use the 4 wheel drive on my new JK. I live in Pa. and we got our first snow storm of the year. We had a good mix of snow and ice on the road. The JK handled so well on the road. In fact I passed by a Ford Truck whos wheels were spinning, I thought to myself, am I going to have trouble in this area? I just eased through with no problem. Not to get down on Fords, but I would never buy one. I had a Ford Escort once, and had alot of problems with it. Anyway, I was so impressed at how well it handled in the snow and ice, I would recommend anyone to go out and invest in one, if your thinking of buying a new vehicle. Now, I can't wait till summer. So I can take the top off. Looking forward to it. Good investment. I think it will be an all around fun vehicle to drive. Anytime of the year.

i was amazed myself living in ohio..

I went to pass a car today and got a little more off the road than I would have liked,.,,
it was about 3-4 feet of snow, the ESP kicked in and the tires that were on the road kept me moving... its amazing how well it works..

That's the key right there... especially in snow and ice. Some folks get over confident and cocky in a 4x4 and this is what usually causes accidents. I am glad you are enjoying your new ride! Summer is gonna be a blast! I am so ready to take that hard top off.

same here, I took my Rubi to work on Wednesday and it had to be at least 3" of snow on the way to work and used the 4 wheel drive all the way in and made it no problemo.....I actually spun (donuts) on purpose once I got there and was the only one there so I had the lot all to myself....tried it with rear wheel , rear wheel w/ Assist button off and 4 wheel low and hi......great to see that each works differently and makes you more in touch with your baby.... ....

Yep, too many people think that having 4 wheel drive makes you invincible on snow and ice, and are immune to the normal laws of physics when it comes to driving a vehicle in winter weather.

It is always fun driving along the interstate the day after a major snowstorm and count the vehicles in the ditch....there always seems to be more 4x4s in the ditches than cars.

Driving during the storm will prove why....I can be doing 35-40 in my 4x4, and think I am almost pushing it as far as speed, yet I will get blown by by other 4x4s that are easily still driving 60+....and sometimes I will even get to wave to the morons a few more miles up the road as they have lost it, and went into the ditch.

Yea I live in PA too. Once I saw the snow falling I went out in it and had to see what this bad boy had. I was very impressed with the handling i also did a couple of doughnuts in an empty parking lot.Have fun with in the SNOW!

My JK is my first 4wd vehicle, and I keep reminding myself that 4wd does great for getting you going, but it doesn't help you stop.

lol@that!

I stop and help pretty much anyone out of the ditch, except the ones that do that. I have been in strings of 4x4's travelling along, some rocket pilot goes screaming by in a blizzard, only to loop it a few hundred yards ahead.

the whole string drives right on by, and most beep and wave as they do!

It always warms the heart to see some idiot reep the rewards of his/her behavior

JP magazine has a pretty good article about winter (snow/ice) driving for on and off road. You can read in on their website.

I to live in Ohio and my JK Unlimited did great in the snow. I major difference I see over my 04' is the ESP I can go much longer in 2wd. I used to have to go into 4wd almost imediatly. One thing that did happen to me is the next morning when I got on the highway as soon as I got above 40 mph I started to get a really bad shimmy........Thought a wheel was going to fall off. It ended up being snow packed on the inside off the wheel throwing it out of balance. The 18 inchers hold a lot off snow.
