Default Wrangler Paint Job?

So I was out washing my Jeep todaay and it got pretty dinged up this winter, I was looking at it realizing there is way way less surface area on a wrangler than a normal vehicle. How much you guys think it would cost to paint a jeep? I've wanted flat black for a long time

It would be around 3,000-5,000 dollars I think. The probably is. You have to paint all the interior trim on the frame and door panels. If it weren't for that. It would be a lot cheaper..

My idea would be to Line-X the door sills, soft top retainer on the rear and anything else in the interior that is visible. Rattle can the engine bay flat black (and bottom of hood, pinch seam and wheel wells)

That way you would have a very limited area to actually be "professionally painted" then from there it should be fairly easy to change colors and cheaper.

Door jams and engine bay are normally what is so pricey from what I have been told.

The actual cost of the paint is minimal compared to the labour for prep and repair. So the actual surface area compared to a full size truck really wouldn't be the issue. If you sanded and did the prep work your self then you could save some cash, but if you do not prep it to the spec of the body shop or what paint system they use you could have an incompatibility which could lead to de-lamination and a crappy paint job. Just talk to a body shop, they'll be able to tell you. But when I was a body man to repaint a vehicle and a few rock chips and small dents you were looking at no less than $3000 and that's just matching the factory colour not changing it and exterior only, no jambs, bays underhood ETC.
