Mine is a dd. It's just rolling over 2 years old and has 108k on it. I was going to go with a 3.5" lift and 35s but I'm keeping it the same height and just adding what I need. I have not hit anything major yet in the trails. So I'm going add some skid plates and call er good. 33s are big enough for what I'm doing.

Funny OP asks if the JK is the toy... Diff strokes but my other cars are a camo-snake skin wrapped polaris rzr and a grigio f430 spyder. The jeep took 2 hard hits from one drunk and one tourist couple and kept rolling laser straight w/o a scratch or alignment (best thing is my 33's wrecked theirs something fierce). The jeep is peace of mind, and is still the practical beast it was, on the other hand, I could only imagine that something w/ more fuel efficiency could possibly be better, or maybe some truck w a long bed if you don't know to reverse w a trailer. Get even touched in a normal panel car and suddenly the next few hours of life are interrupted with a jerk driver & a police officer w better places to be. Preaching to the chorus - i know - but damn love the Jeeps. Speed or attention-whoring can't beat peace and capability, cause time is the greatest and most expensive luxury of all. Really is.
