Default Zipper Replacement

Howdy, has anyone replaced the zipper on their back window? Not the window itself but the zipper on the soft top. Mine has gotten so bad that it’s now practically impossible to put the window back on… I’d rather not replace the whole top so I’m trying to research if the zipper can just be replaced and where folks have gone to have such a thing done.

Thanks!
Brandon

Bad as in the stitching holding the zipper to the top or the actual sliding of the zipper? Have you tried some sort of lube, wax or similar to help it? I'd think replacing a zipper on a soft top would be a huge task due to the inconvenience.

Good question… yes it’s the fabric connecting the zipper to the soft top material that’s basically disintegrating.

Man, that is a tough one. If you were in Denver or Co Springs Id say the better option would be look for a used top on CL or FBM and you could sell yours as parts...windows, frame etc and that could offset a lot of the cost. Also, and upholstery shop is probably more readily available as an option, but I do bet that is a redonk price and you'd have to remove your fabric from the frame to take it to them. I love your neck of the woods...my dad lives in Florissant so I'm often heading out to BV when I'm there. I know you're CL and FBM options are, well, more limited than a metropolitan area.

Yeah I was thinking some kind of upholstery shop too but had the same thought… after all is said and done, probably not worth it! And awesome! We drive through Florissant all the time to do our errands in the Springs… always fun to go to the “big city” lol.
