Welcome to the world of the 4:1 transfer case. 4hi doesn't have the torque for mud and 4lo is too low to spin the mud out of the tires!

I did nearly the same last summer. Two week old Rubicon, stuck in the mud, and pulled out by a Chevy 2500.

Doesn't help that you still have the stock tires either. You will want to change those out asap.

i just assumed that the stock rubi tires would hold up, guess i was wrong .
i couldnt even get the car to move an inch once i got stuck. anything that i could of tried to get out? ive never really offroaded before and would love some tips on what i should have done. once i go stuck i turned off esp in 4hi then tried to steer sharply in both directions. then i put it in 4 low and did the same thing. i tried to reverse a bit but that didnt work AT ALL. i even tried locking the rear and disconnecting the sway bars just for shits and giggles it was only after i got stuck when i relized that i should have aired my tires down because the dealer had them at 45 . they now stay at 30.

When I was a kid, there was a guy my dad worked with who had a Suburban he used to go hunting with. He told my dad that when he had a 4wd, he got stuck a lot more than with 2wd because with 2wd he went around the mud, with 4wd he'd go through the mud.

For some reason I never forgot that little story. But there's some truth to it. We have better tires, 4wd, lifted, etc. so we think we can go through anything. Sometimes, the mud wins!

I love driving through the mud although I tend to get stuck in the soft stuff. Every time I've tried to go through it, BAM!, I get stuck. As a matter of fact, I was out in it yesterday and got stuck! And I was alone... Thankfully I had a winch installed about a month ago and yesterday was the first time I've used it! It pulled me right out! I have no reasonable fear now of getting stuck. It's just getting out and sloppin' through all the mud to get it all hooked up and outta there!

Better stock & stuck than driving around in a lock, lifted, grocery getter with 40" tires.

Hey Glad you got it out but, weird question?

What tire is on your Rubi? Maybe its the pics but those look like SRA's or the Pirelli's used on Sahara and not the KM M/T's?

Before going to Goodyear MT/R's, I ran the Rubi KM's and never saw them wadded in mud like that???? Usually those KM's are pretty good about throwing chunks of mud out and keeping the tread fairly clean??????

Or, did Jeep change the tire for 11?
