Yeah... The world should go to the same plate size... I'm in Italy... and my front plate is shorter and wider than the American plate... and the rear plate is about the same width, but about twice as tall!!!

I had to cut up my rear license bracket to get the dang thing to fit straight!!!

yellow08rubicon: I found the place on Google Earth... next time I'm up TDY in Germany... I'll have to take a day to drive over there. Thanks!

Yeah they should use the same size. I know what plates you have and thats way worse then my situation. I had to fight for these plates cause they are the only one's you can ship a car back to the states with. So they only want to give them out to people that are short on going back. I just kept telling them nothing else would fit so they finally gave in and issued me these. I don't want the one's you have.

No the plates I have are actually the American plates the Germans don't have anything of that size. So whatever American designed them must have not known what he was doing. The Germans have the short and really wide plates ( standard european car plates )

No... it's an American spec with the 3.8L. I'm not impressed with the Euro CRD Rubi... they don't come with the BFG M/Ts... the front bumper sticks out an extra few inches... and the front fender flares reach down to meet the bumper. It looks like a bad body kit. I can't comment on the CRD... don't know enouch about it...

so you don't like the CRD rubi because of the bumper and tires

Just to quote on this subject: Europeans don't have the option to change things like Americans do. First the part that they want to put on has to be approved through there (TUV) which is the European inspections which is a very hard process. Then they have to pay the Government to even put the part on. On top of that they have to pay taxes on it yearly which as it was explained to me is 100 Euros per aftermarket part every year with there registration. So if you had 10 aftermarket parts it would cost you about 1000 Euro ( 1250 Dollars ) per year with your registration. So point being is Europeans don't make upgrades. The way it is when you buy it is the way it has to be the rest of the time you own it.

Sounds about right... that's why many Italians that I know buy an American jeep that's already been modified and have it shipped over here. That way they only pay the import tax on the vehicle and the price to have it converted to European specs.
