Anthracite Offroad Adventure Area - June 2014
My friend Rob invited me to come along and check out the newly opened Anthracite Offroad Park in Coal Township, PA. It's only been open since late May but it is already pretty well laid out and should only get better.

He brought his buddy's buggy along and met the other buggies from Tucker Offroad.

I stuck with them, a few higher lifted Wranglers and a very well built 4 Runner until we dipped in the creek. Got my first stuck, got high centered on a large rock. The rubicon rails work great.

After I got a tug off the rock I was met with a long up hill rock climb. The buggies had moved on so it was up to my Dad and I to work our way up the rocks using some driver skill and stacking rocks when needed.

After the long up hill climb I had added several new battle scars underneath and added rock rash to 3 of my 4 wheels but we had done it on our own. We decided to break off from the buggies at this point and look around some more of the park trails.

A trip down a power line led to a trail coming off on the right side that took us to a giant hill made of coal tailings.

We rode as far as we could get when we reached a spot for a great picture of the town.

And looking the other way there is a huge coal hill to climb that we watched some 4 wheelers and dirt bikes tackle.

Overall it was a great day of wheeling. Right now the trails are not marked with difficulty on the map so you need to be careful not to get over your head with the difficulty. If your just into trail riding it has some great trails with some interesting views and lots of places to explore.
And on the way back to the main office there is the largest scoop I have ever seen. I couldn't resist and had to see if my JKU would fit inside it.

Yep fits right in!

Definitely worth the trip for anyone looking for a new place to wheel on the East Coast.
