What a story!!! Had me laughing more than once. Sounds like it was a awesome trip I live in northern California 20 miles from Oregon and actually have a house in shady cove its a small town you passed through from crater lake to medford. I always laugh when people come to crescent city where I live to see the ocean and the trees cuz we take advantage of what we have around us I guess. Thanks again for the story it was fun to read!!

Thanks! When I got back to Tucson I had to have the axle housing replaced. I reused the gears, shafts, hubs, brakes and got new ball joints and seals. I'm looking around for a better front axle now. The Prorock 44 is nice but expensive. The stock D44 uses the same tubes as the D30 that broke. My other option would be to sleeve and gusset this axle and carry a spare set of shafts.
