Default AZ Gila and Salt Weekend

My father and I had a great trip this weekend exploring the Gila and Salt Rivers here in Arizona. Arizona has had more rainfall then normal and it's great to see our rivers running and our lakes filled up! Coming out of the Gila we had a little delay because some not so smart cowboy tried to walk his horse across a cattleguard. The Salt is being used heavy this time of years with rafting. Great trip. Due to heavy runoff some watercrossing are required and at Cibecue Creek in the Salt River Canyon we decided to turn around. The water was about 3.5 feet high and the current was very swift. I could not walk it, we had no winch point on the other side and no other vehicle with us. So when in doubt get out.... Anyhow great trip

Great pics. We were out by the Oatman Massacre site which is along the Gila River only a lot further west past Gila Bend. The river was flowing there as well.

Looks like we were stomping around the same areas. The cliffs and mesas in that area are amazing, love the panorama shots!!
