Default Barnwell Mountain Run on Jan 1-2, 2010

Myself, TMLoftis, and Texas Trailmaker made a run this weekend at Barnwell.

I was there a little early on Friday morning before the other 2 showed up so I did a couple of trails with some folks that were headed out.

Then the others showed up for the afternoon and then we did some more again on Saturday.

It had rained for a full day the day before, so it was quite muddy making some of the trails either impossible or too difficult, but we still found lots of fun.

The trails we ran: On Any Sunday, DesiWay, Binder Boulevard, Angry Jeep, We Show, Linda Gail, Greenlane, Twister, Sierra's Skyview, X-Way (but we only did 1/2--1 area was impassable), Whatever, Humdinger, Solihull, Pine Hill Run, Scorpion Overlook twice and once backwards, and we went as far up Clydes Ravine that we could--the northern most part of Clyde's Ravine is in bad shape and impassable to almost anyone, they even have it taped off so no one falls into the ravine coming from the north.

Me headed down a very slippery Angry Jeep--I was leading so I got to chance it first and wow was it pucker inducing but fun.

There are some photos of some other groups on some trails out there as well including a near flop/roll over that I saw a red 2 dr JK do.

Yeah, we had a blast. Lots of fun. TMLoftis had a friend with him who took lots of pics, so we should have more later.

I'll post some of the pics when I get off work. They were still importing to the computer when I left.

thx guys for all the fun and for the pics here on the forum.

its not very often i have other jeeps to ride with(i have determined that i get braver, i.e. do dummer things, when i have a rescue team on standby)
i had a blast and hope we get a chance to do it again - maybe--when its warmer!
u guys were great to ride with and were awesome spotters and i hope that i was helpful in some way.

im also glad we got a chance to really put some stress on my winch and it recover the jeep...worked like a champ altho i would have prefered to have made it up that under power of traction alone. i would have had to back down from that slope without yall for assistance in the winch and spotting process. thx again.

is it still rock crawling if everything is covered in mud? or is it mud crawling?

the pics came out great!

angry jeep-very scary. i was practicing how i was gonna explain the body dmg to insurance company. "i was scooting down the interstate and a mud wall jumped out in front of me and i tried to dodge it but had a glancing blow--hey at least i didnt total it ----right???...pls dont total it ...pls"

fortunantly no dmg other than some minor paint scratches....sharpie to the rescue!

Ok, the pics are being uploaded to the internet. This may take a while, there's about 400 of them.
