Camping in Telluride or Ouray?
We are looking at staying in the Molas Lake Campground. Anyone stay there before? According to the their site, it was rated most scenic by AAA. Also, the elevation is 10900 feet. We will be staying at Moab elevation before CO, so that should help in the transition from FL to CO.
1) San Juan Forest, read about what is open and what is not, same with the others

In the last 2 years and many times back in the 80's, I have camped at Alta Lakes outside of Telluride, along Cinnamon Pass, Stony Pass, and Imogene, every time was dispersed camping, we found a spot we like and followed the rules and never had a problem.
July 4 weekend, we did the Alpine Loop and a couple others in the area, there are fire restrictions, just read what they are and go have fun.
