I kind of understand how you felt loosing control of the Jeep in that slick stuff. Kind of like icy roads. Sorry about all the damage but I'm glad the Jeep and your mods managed to survive the test. Can't wait to see pics of your Jeep with the new accessories. Keep us posted.

If I remember right, AEV has a bunch of stock, painted hoods laying around that they sell for a very reduced price. Since you'll have bought two front bumpers from them, they might just give you one of those hoods, ya know, for free.

Considering this was only the 2nd year for this Jeep Jamboree, I think inexperience on my part, and that of the guides, led to this situation. Would you believe - that's exactly what they did! I gotta pay for shipping, which isn't cheap, but it's a hell of a lot cheaper than buying an OEM and having it painted! Woohoo! Now I just hope it gets here without any dents. :-)

haha yeah I was wondering if you were on here but figured I'd wait and see if anyone would post a trip report. I seriously need to pickup a t-shirt and sticker.

But thats FANTASTIC about your hood!!

Wow what a company to do that for it's customers! Congrats

I love the skid plate underneath and was wondering if you scraped on your belly alot? We did quite a bit on The Glade and some on Vertigo and all I kept thinking about was those skid plates and how handy they'd be. Did you end up grading the trail like George and I?

And about the flat black hood haha you've seen me so you know I'm a fan!
Hopefully she'll be getting a coat of John Deere Blitz black in a couple weeks. But I will admit I do miss my rubicon stickers.

Keep us up to date and I'll definitely see you next year.

Edit* The drive home....

Lets see, we had great weather until Sunday and sunday was MISERABLE, we had no doors and a bent steering stabilizer. So In a monsoon we drove 20 mins to some town that had a nappa and bought another cheap SS until I can order a beefier one. Which this will be my spare to take with me once I swap it out.

Then replaced the SS in one of those car wash bays and proceeded to head home. As crazy as we were with no doors heading home sunday in that downpour we did pass another black JK heading the other way with NO TOP and NO DOORS...I'm seriously wondering how he could see to even drive. It was coming in sideways!!!!

haha live and learn..next time bring the doors!

Yeah, the skids were really useful. The rock sliders too. Next time I'll use the sliders a bit more though -- kinda rest it against a rock and power turn around it. The t-case plate bend up a bit, but there's still a good 3/4" between it and the t-case. The problem with the skids is all the crap they pickup. I'm planning to wash it for a second time this afternoon, specifically to wash out those skids.

That should look very decent. If you want, you can get a replacement Rubicon sticker from moparpartsamerica.com. They have decent pricing.

I'll probably skip the Vermont JJ for a few years. If you attend the Maine or NY JJ, then we might see each other again. :-)
