Default Crystal Mill trip

The wife and I went to Crystal Mill last Friday. Nice trip, we took the southern route from Marble, CO to get there. Trail was not bad, narrow but lots of spots to pull off for passing vehicles. Beautiful scenery the whole way and the Mill is awesome. Good times!!

BTW, two ways to get there from Marble; 315 North route and 314 South route. We took 314 the moderate trail. Glad we did. I met a family part way to the mill (they were heading to Marble) and they had taken the North 315 route (Hard). He had a stock pick up truck and did not know the differences in the routes. He was kinda stressed . He spent most of his trip worried he was going to get stuck.

Here's a for you guy. Hope your stress level gets better.

That's an awesome trail for scenery! If you keep going through crystal you will head to crested butte. That pass I hear (havnt done it) will make you pucker. If you ever want to wheel I'm in Rifle a lot of stuff around hear. Battlement has a good trail to a lake up top and of course the flat tops countless trails. Would love to have some jeeps to explore with!

Pictures of Schofield Pass very narrow. One of the narrowest I've been on. Devils punch bowl is what it's known for. This is where a van went off and several people died. It's not all that bad.

Nice pics of the Mill. I've always seen it in late summer. Maybe in about three weeks we will go thru there and hopefully it will have almost as much water.

I would like to run the whole route, but want to have other vehicles/people on the trip. Just in case. My 4Runner is stock and does very well, but it's just not the same as my Rubicon I traded off. :(

Ran that route from Marble a couple years ago in a Razor and Devils Punch Bowl even in that was a pucker factor for me...definitely the most beautiful place in Co that I've been to and well worth the trip ...

Will be staying in Gunnison for two nights on our way to Steamboat.. I want to see the Crystal Mill again hoping for more water flowing in the river/steam. We will be going at least one way via Schofield Pass, from Crested Butte to Crystal, as long as Schofield Pass is open by then... maybe returning via Schofield pass also.. if not will return via Kebler Pass.. then stopping in Crested Butte to eat at the Secret Stash.... great Pizza.... but if Schofield Pass in not open not sure of our plans...
Saturday July 19th...
