Default Drinkwater Flat - Santa Clarita, CA - 02.25.11

Vince ("modestoperandi") and I went out in search of mud and snow at 3:00 p.m. We decided to head to Drinkwater Flat, as it is only 10 minutes from the front door! We were not disappointed (except no snow yet), as there were plenty of steep hill climbs and descents, and much slipping and sliding. We started with Drinkwater Trail and then did House Trail, and with the heavy downpour, it was moderately challenging. No need for lockers or high clearance, but traction and aggressive tires were needed, and the adrenaline was definitley pumping more than a few times. We would like to go back and run the House Trail in the opposite direction, as there were some aggressive hill climbs that could be fun. Here are a few photos:

Toad,

It is about 2 miles north of the intersection of Copper Hill and San Francisquito Canyon Rd. Trailhead is on the right:

and there is a parking area to the left that is great for airing down. Be happy to show it to you whenever you want...
