Default Extended Easter Break in the Australian High Country

Wendy and I took an extended break and disappeared from Wednesday before Easter and came back yesterday (Tuesday) with no kids, just two dogs a Jeep and the camper

The Jeep looked sooo pretty when we left Wednesday morning

The first night was a little overcast with a near full Moon but fairly warm. The sky looked awesome

The moon was full at some stage of the trip

We set up camp in a private little section and had it all to ourselves with the river running on one side a track on the other and bush surrounding the rest.

Easter Sunday Wendy heated up the hot cross buns in the camp oven Yummmy

This tree looked stunning

Some of the webs hanging off the same tree one morning

We visited the Dogs Grave on the way up to Omeo

Another old relic

Man and his dogs. Well maybe one dog and the other a glorified mummy's boy

The old and the new

Spare parts

An Oriental mine site just before entering Omeo

An old disused bridge built after the first world war by return soldiers

We headed up to have a look at the ruins of Australia's first Hydro scheme built in the early 1900's but the DSE had closed the track to the actual ruins, at least the scenery up to the gate was impressive

Victoria Falls ( a little smaller than the famous ones)

We decided to head back to camp taking a different route and came across this magnificent camping spot
Queens Birthday Weekend look out here we come

On Monday after resting all Sunday I told Wendy I just want to go for a short drive to a pretty little hut I know of not far away.
Well all was going well till I missed the alternative track and....

Only a little stuck

The winch worked finally after i remember about the safety disconnect we installed when we wired up the Jeep's winch

Pretty hut with a pretty girl

An ideal renovator

Another fireplace from an even older hut we are guessing

She made it back all in on piece

Where we camped

Hope you enjoyed the trip report
