Met up with Rubicon guru BKGM Jeepers today to finally tackle the Rubicon. I was in disbelief when he told me we were going to run it in just one day. I seriously didn't think we could do it, mostly due to my lack of experience on this trail. When we reached Loon Lake, it was about 0910. Let me tell you how frickin nervous I was. But after getting through a few obstacles and off camber stuff, I actually started gaining a little confidence, but I don't think my heart rate ever got below 100. BKGM guided me through obstacle after obstacle, with me basically trying to simply follow his footsteps through. Cheating, probably, but did I manage to make it through without damage, you bet. We reached the staging area on the Tahoe side somewhere around 3:15 pm. Absolutely exhilarating!! Thanks again buddy!
