Default Fortune Creek Trail - Gallagher Lake, Alpine Lakes - Cle Elum, WA

My wife, dog and I went to a Jeep trail called Fortune Creek Trail (4W301) near Cle Elum, WA. It was really fun! A bit challenging --very steep and some parts are rocky-- but it's not one of those extreme (hard-core) trail. Since the trail goes along the border of Alpine Lakes Wilderness, it was very scenic trail and took us to one of the Alpine Lake called Gallagher Head Lake. Actually, we've been to the lake last year on the way to climb Esmeralda Peaks but got there by hiking over 4 miles on a hiking trail (different trail). If you don't have a cool Jeep like ours, the only way to get to the lake is by hiking 4 miles (each way)... or hiking 6.5 miles on Fortune Creek Trail (each way).

I don't know it's because it was Thursday but we didn't see anyone on the trail or at the lake. It was very nice and quiet. Love solitude.

BTW, I lost 2 D-ring shackles on the trail. It is good idea to remove them before you heading bumpy trail. Keep somewhere safe until you need them.

Very Nice Pics! Looks like my type of area, too bad I live on the other end of the US. Also looks like bear country.

Beautiful place! It's nice that the 4x4 trail actually takes you to somewhere. It must be much more fun than driving around in a crowded ORV park.

Gorgeous!!!

The scenery is pretty nice too

A Rubicon in Rescue Green is what I have my eye on. I love it with those tube doors on, looks great.

This is awesome. I just read up about this trail a few weeks ago and plan on it being my first weekend with the Jeep once it gets here.
