And you know the party is about to get started when the mayonaise comes out!

 

Nothing is official yet, but here's a map showing current closed areas. They are also proposing weather closures which will kill the local economy. Who wants to spend the money and time to get there only to find the park closed because of a shower moving through. The hotels and cabins will lose many reservations.

The plan is to close trail 12 (School Bus) and parts of 11. They also want to pave trail 1 which means that only licensed vehicles will be able to operate on it. This would include ATV's. All together they want to close about 15 miles.

I've been wanting to get there for the last five years. Never been yet. I hope I get to make it before it closes completely one day. I like the "forest tunnel" picture.
