So on the weekend I am helping a buddy swap a new old motor into his 198? Chevy because he blew it up dicking around in the snow with me two weeks ago. As we were working away we realized we were out of beer and needed more ASAP in order to continue. on our return trip back from the local liquor establishment I say "hey there is a small mud pit just down from my house and with all the recent melting of snow it should be pretty sticky and nasty" I then proceeded to say "it is our duty to check this mud hole out to see if anyone is stuck and needs a hand getting out of it..... possibly run it ourselves a couple times to make sure its all good" after arriving at the mud hole and noticing no one was stuck or even attempted to drive through the slop hole since I last did a couple weeks earlier we decide to run it in 2wd. Which really was poor planning on my part.



So a friendly phone call went out to my girlfriend to come pull me out with her Jeep. She knew right when she picked up the phone where I was and why I was calling....




All in all it was a good time and I realized now that I need 5.13s or 5.38's in the diff to restore some lost torque. 4hi was too weak to really spin the tires ans clean them and 4lo was too low and I couldnt really use it without over reving and the run wasnt long enough to get it to shift into 2nd (Standard would have been nice) Anyhow here is what my Jeep looked like afterwards.

 

I like mud like that and wear it proud. Its like a badge of honor. Nice pics and nice that your GF actually came to your aid.

 

umm that mud is AWESOME

I'd be pissed about the one tire sidewall being clean and go back in.....jeep looks great clean the windows and mirrors and you are good to go.

Pretty damn funny you went on a beer run and got stuck in mud AND pulled out by Grand Cherokee

 

I probably would have made it through if I was in 4wd from the start but I dug such huge holes in the back it just couldnt lift out without a tug
