jckid's Death Valley Trip
Those little trailers are expensive too! My wife wants one, but WOW, sticker shock for me! They are very nice and a great set-up for small family. Ironically, I've seen pics of yours before with the JK and I also have the silver Sahara and I like the silver T@B...
Do you like the way it tows behind the JK?

I guess I am one of those people. The name does it no favors. But WOW it really does look like an amazing place to spend some time.

Here's some of the things that sold us on the T@B: it's aerodynamic, super light (it has handles and we can move it around super easy), does not require a brake controller (has surge brakes), excellent quality, perfect match to my JK (silver), has a permanent trailer license (no annual reg. fees), we're short enough that we can stand up in it (I think it's 5'9" inside), and it's different than almost anything else on the road.
It tows great. My husband and I split the driving time 50/50 when we travel, and I am perfectly comfortable driving with the trailer in tow. The only exception is that I'm not too good at backing it up, so I let my husband do that! The trailer seems to be well matched to the Jeep. It has no trouble towing it. We lose about 5mpg when we tow it, so that's not too bad.
No, we didn't go all the way through, but I've read about that section of the trail in my "Death Valley SUV Trails" book. It says that the dry falls are Class V. I don't have the ground clearance with my 32" tires and tiny lift (or the driving skills!), but I'm sure you'd have no trouble with your rig. We met a guy in a 2-dr. Rubicon up there. He said that he talked to a guy in Furnace Creek that went all the way through. The guy in the Rubi didn't plan to attempt it either, as he was bone stock.
jckid ,
I saw you in Panamint Springs. I almost ran across the street to say hi but that was one of our longest days. We did the Goler Wash / Mengal pass run from Furnace creek and dove back to Panamint springs snd the back to Furnace. Sounds simple.
We did 900 miles without doors in the valley in a week. Mostly on dirt. I tried to get up Echo with my stock Sahara and almost made it (not quit good enough) But I did every other trail in the park.
Here is the picture of Echo.

Now I really wish I had run across the street.

Nice pic of Echo Canyon. You're right. It doesn't look as bad as the book describes. Looks like fun...
Sorry for the wrong pic.

Oh yeah and one thing I learned on my trip is that pictures lie. People make their pictues look way more hardcore than they are.
In regards to some photos I have seen, If Echo Canyon was a class 5 then there are a whole lot of class 8's out there when class 6 is considered impossible.
Anyway , I am really bummed I didn't go over and say hi.
I plan on getting an offroad trailer.

Yep, it was Friday. I saw all those Jeeps in front of the restaurant too. I went over and took a video of them. Your tube doors look great. Also like the silver/black sand dune decals. I changed mine to the older palm tree decal, but I might have went with the black/silver dunes if I'd thought of that. I see too that you have Rubi wheels and tires just like me. Quite an improvement over the stock 18" wheels and Bridgestone tires huh?
