Default Lower Woodpecker and Lower Ajax AZ

A few shots crawling Lower Woodpecker and Lower Ajax.

This obstacle is right below the petroglyphs on Lower Woodpecker. Stopped there on several occasions and thought to myself "need to climb that someday". "Someday" was today! Was way too easy.

The canyon had just enough water to make it scenic.

Ajax was a blast too. The wet winter really mixed things up! Like riding a new trail!

There was a lot more trail after this, but I dropped my camera in the water getting out to take this shot. Picked it out and took this picture - then the camera went dead. I dried it out in the sun but the next day it wouldn't take any pictures. I figured since I dropped it and it stopped working, makes sense that if I drop it again it will start working. It did!!

Very nice! I have got to check those out someday. I've been through Box Canyon and the Coke Ovens in the Florence area but not Ajax and Woodpecker.

Just curious, do you have rubbing on your stock fenders with those tires (35's it looks like?). What tire and wheel combo do you have?

No rubbing issues - room to spare! BFG KM2's mounted on AEV Pintlers.

Great locations for crawling, learned a lot out there with some great spotters/teachers. I remember going through some sections on Ajax that I thought there was no way I could get through, but sure enough I did and that was on a night run. Went back another time during the day and it looked even harder, but made it.

If I'm ever back in town with my jeep we need to get an AZ Jk'ers group run to the Florence area.

In fall, winter, or spring, but not summer! If you are in town, let's do something a bit cooler - back road to Crown King for example.

There's also the Table Mesa area which is MUCH closer to me.

Actually, anytime you are up for a 'wheel, me too!

Nice pictures! What a great area, I'm sooo ready for it to warm up here. I love seeing the water running down there.
